WHAT TO EXPECT DURING POST PROCEDURE/AFTERCARE?
Patients can return to normal activities right away. It is recommended to avoid sauna use and bathing or swimming for a few days after treatment. Occasionally, patients may feel light cramping or very slight discomfort. if there is any discomfort, it is usually described as “feeling like I had something done”. This is because the tissue has been ablated and is initiating healing phases, which include inflammation. Inflammation is intentionally initiated by the laser to cause tissue growth and increase the health of the tissue. Tylenol works great to deal with any discomfort during healing. Patients are advised to avoid smoking, anti inflammatory medications, corticosteroids, ibuprofen, Aleve, Advil, Motrin after treatment for at least 1 week if they have had PRP therapy in conjunction with their Juliet laser treatment. PRP action is thought to be lessened as a result of these medications or drugs. Some spotting consisting of the ablated tissue may be discharged from the area. A panty liner may be used to deal with this. All of this, if any occurs, will disappear within days after treatment.
